Citing sources

Use a citation immediately after the statement it supports:

A C64 factual statement.<ref>[https://example.org/document Responsible publisher, “Document title”], relevant section or page, accessed 21 September 2026.</ref>

Add this near the end of the article:

== References ==
<references />

Choose evidence, not popularity

Prefer original documentation for specifications and behavior. Add an independent museum, archive, technical project, or historical source for context and verification. A copied mirror is not an independent source.

Cite precisely

Identify the relevant chapter, section, page, file, function, or table when possible. If a source supports only one part of a sentence, place the citation after that part or split the sentence.

Write independently

Read the source, close it, explain the fact in your own structure and words, then reopen it to verify accuracy. A citation does not make copied wording acceptable.
