C64 Wiki collects the minimum information needed to operate, secure, and moderate the service.

Reading

The web server may record routine request data such as time, requested path, browser information, referring page, and network address for security, reliability, and abuse investigation. These logs are not article content.

Editing

A logged-out editor may receive a temporary account identifier so contributions can have a revision history without immediately exposing a raw network address as the public author name. Moderators and authorized administrators may access additional technical information when needed to review abuse or protect the service.

Accounts

A permanent account stores its username, password verifier, settings, and contribution history. Do not use a username that reveals private information unless you intend it to be public.

Advertising and analytics

The initial launch does not activate advertising or third-party analytics. If either is introduced, this page and the consent controls must be updated before the code is enabled.

Public content

Accepted article text, edit summaries, usernames, and revision history are public and may be redistributed under the site license. Do not submit private personal information.

Retention and requests

Revision history is retained to preserve attribution and accountability. Security and moderation records are retained only as long as operationally necessary. A dedicated privacy contact will be published before the site is promoted for broad public contribution.
